About Us

Information about the AFSS association

The AFSSOSA 96 set is the Old Student association of Airforce Secondary School Ikeja, Class of 96. The group has come together to form a community of friends who have shared 1 to 6 years of their lives together in secondary school. The group is registered as a not-for-profit organisation with the CAC and the a goal to network, add value to one another, give back to the alma Mata in terms of tangible and intangible projects and also to the world at large.

Projects

Ongoing, Upcoming and Past Projects.

The group’s first key project was the renovation and equipping of the school canteen at the Airforce Secondary School in Ikeja.
The group through its welfare committee also visited the “dustbin village” as a form of corporate social responsibility.
The group seeks to continuously evolve projects that will enrich and develop its members, add value to the alma mata and contribute to the society at large.

Committees

Our Various AFSS committiees

The Group is Governed through the following frame work as enshrined in the constitution of the association.

  • An Elected Executive Committee(Exco) comprising of a President, Vice President, General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer and PROs for America/Australia/Asia and Uk/Europe/Other Islands. The Exco’s leads and runs the affairs of the association for 1 year.

  • A welfare committee appointed by the Exco comprising a chairman and four (4) members one of which must be an Exco member. The committee is in charge of welfare issues of the association.

  • An Ethics and Compliance Committee appointed by the Exco and comprising a chairperson and four (4) members, one of which must be an Exco member. The committee is in charge of enforcing and ensuring compliance to the Code of Conducts(CoC) of the association.

  • A Strategy and Planning Committee appointed by the Exco and comprising of a chairperson and four (4) members, one of which must be an Exco member. The committee is in charge of planning and assessment of projects and programs.
